Newtown Farm Produce is a mixed farm outside Castledermot, comprising of cattle & sheep. They started selling lamb at Carlow Farmers Market in 2006 & today, their product range consists of their own Aberdeen Angus Beef, Lamb, Dry-cure Bacon & Free Range chickens.
Their beef & lamb is brought to their local butcher where the beef is dry-aged for a minimum of 18 days & quite often up to 28 days, & the lamb aged for 9 days. This gives it its maximum taste & tenderness.
The Dry Cure Bacon is produced by O'Neill foods in Wexford.
The Bacon is dry cured in the traditional method which has 30 % less salt, no Phosphates and no added water. This is bacon that "Tastes Like Bacon Should"
Bacon products include:
Ham Fillets in a convenient size; very tasty when roasted in oven
Back Loin; a quick & convenient piece which is easy to carve.
Back rashers; ideal for grilling with no shrinkage and no watery residue.
