In 1988 Tom and Elizabeth Malone purchased two acres of land to provide employment for their teenage family. Following the advice and support of the local Teagasc office it was decided to grow strawberries on the two acres to supply the jam factory in Bunclody and locality with fresh strawberries.
The business has now grown in size to twelve acres and providing a wide variety of soft fruit to the general public, hotel and restaurant trade.
Frozen Fruits are also available all year round for smoothies and desserts. These can be purchased from our Farm shop in Ballon. In 1999 we undertook to produce our own jams and jellies. In 2005 we constructed a purpose built kitchen and now produce a wide variety of jams, jellies, maramalads, chutneys, fruit tonics and cordials. We also have a variety of hamper and gift ideas for that special occasion. You can choose from out pre-made hampers or simply make your own.
